Kerem Hasan
Kerem Hasan, conductor, has studied piano and conducting at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and Hochschule für Musik Franz Liszt in Weimar, and he is currently a student at the Zurich University of the Arts with Johannes Schlaefli. Most recently a finalist of the Donatella Flick Conducting Competition, Mr. Hasan conducted the London Symphony Orchestra in concert at the Barbican Centre. Recent engagements include concerts with the Royal Northern Sinfonia, Musikkollegium Winterthur, Meininger Hofkapelle, Neubrandenburger Philharmonie, and an invitation to assist Vladimir Jurowski and the London Philharmonic Orchestra. Mr. Hasan has conducted the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra, Royal Flemish Philharmonic, Royal Scottish National Orchestra, and Bern Symphony Orchestra. He has participated in master classes with Bernard Haitink, David Zinman and the Tonhalle-Orchester, Gianandrea Noseda, and Esa-Pekka Salonen. In 2016, Mr. Hasan joined the Dirigentenforum de Deutscher Musikrat. He is the grateful recipient of scholarships from the Help Musicians UK, ABRSM, and the Solti Foundation. Most recently, Mr. Hasan is the 2017 winner of the Nestlé and Salzburg Festival Young Conductors Award for his performance with the Camerata Salzburg. Spending his second summer in Aspen, Mr. Hasan is studying with Robert Spano in the Apsen Conducting Academy and is a recipient of the Robert J. Harth Conductor Prize.
