Imagined with friends in the 1960s at Aspen and Juilliard, fictional composer P.D.Q. Bach was the creation of multi-year AMFS alum, the late Peter Schickele. His concept introduced a rare but beloved note of witty satire and comedy in the typically formal and structured world of classical music. In this recital, the AMFS pays homage to one of its own with selections such as Toot Suite, Echo Sonata for Two Unfriendly Groups of Instruments, and, fittingly, selections from The Abduction of Figaro.
