After his stunning performance in the title role of Mozart's Idomeneo during the 2023 season, Metropolitan Opera star Matthew Polenzani returns to Aspen to sing Rodolfo in this semi-staged production of Puccini's most popular opera. The rest of the cast will be made up of tomorrow's opera luminaries from the Aspen Opera Theatre and VocalARTS program. The story was originally set in 19th century Paris, but could take place anytime and anywhere, as proven by its adaptation into the hit musical Rent.
