Renata Arado, violin, began violin instruction in the Suzuki method at age two in Chicago. She continued her violin studies at the University of Michigan and Rice University with Camilla Wicks and at the San Francisco Conservatory in the chamber music program. Ms. Arado was principal second violin of Norway's Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra for fifteen years, and she has appeared with chamber groups around the globe, collaborating with Isaac Stern, Julia Fischer, Robert Mann, Yefim Bronfman, Joshua Bell, and Gil Shaham. In 2016–17, Ms. Arado toured Puerto Rico with the International Chamber Orchestra of Puerto Rico. She performs in a duo with her husband, Espen Lilleslåtten, appearing as soloists at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall and debuting the Concerto for Two Violins by Dinos Constantinides. In a duo performance at the Barge Music series in Brooklyn, the New York Times praised them for their beautifully nuanced interpretation of Martinů’s Three Madrigals. Ms. Arado performs in chamber series across the U.S, including the Taos Chamber Group series; Captiva Island Cultural Festival; B.I.G. Arts Concert Series of Sanibel, of which she is the artistic advisor; and the LSU School of Music recital series. She is an artist-faculty member of the Aspen Music Festival and School.
